About Charlie Karlsson

Charlie Karlsson is the founder and principal attorney of Actus Law. With a professional background that spans military leadership experience as a commissioned naval officer of the Royal Danish Navy, law practice at one of Denmark’s top-tier law firms as well as senior commercial management positions in both the shipping and insurance industries, Charlie brings a rare blend of strategic perspective, legal precision, and real-world business acumen.

Charlie holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Aarhus, he is admitted to the Danish bar as a qualified attorney-at-law and he is a Military Legal Advisor certified by the Danish Judge Advocate General. In addition, Charlie holds an unrestricted Master Mariner’s license and has taught criminal law as an external lecturer at the University of Copenhagen.

Before founding Actus Law, Charlie spent 12 years in different commercial roles in the international shipping and insurance business, honing his commercial skills and insight. Whether advising on commercial disputes, strategic legal risk, or cross-border legal matters, Charlie is committed to delivering actionable advice and long-term value to his clients.
